Naked Vegan Cooking is a blog full of delicious, easy to cook vegan recipes and beautiful, naked bodies and not an airbrush in sight. We believe in tasty food and positive body image.
The blog was started by Greta, Jess and Luke. We like to cook naked, for ourselves, our friends and lovers out of our huge, messy shared house in Manchester. And then we post the recipes and photos online for you to share. You can also submit your own recipes and photos for us to put up on the blog. Happy cooking : )
We also organise events around body-positivity, click here to be added to our events mailing list.

If you were so high up about body image you’d have at least one overweight person in there. Oh wait – vegans are pretentious douchebags, I forgot.
By the way, do you have any idea how many items you use every day are derived from cattle? There is no such thing as a vegan. Proof: http://i.imgur.com/eVUjY.jpg
We come as we are. We’re not going to go out and find an overweight person just so they can star on this blog – that would be totally objectifying.
Interesting picture.
“The perfect is the enemy of the good”
Just because they happen not to have any fat members of their household who are into naked cooking, they shouldn’t post?
Just because it’s impossible to be a perfect vegan in the modern world, they shouldn’t try?
Personally I don’t see veganism as a good, but arguing you shouldn’t try because you can’t be perfect is always wrong, even if you shouldn’t try for another reason
KR aka SteC
Hello Kate,
I was just doing some research on this (nakedvegancooking) and saw your response, and felt the need to dispell your self-righteousness. I agree with what the others have said, but would also like to make you aware to the fact that veganism is largely based on a philosophy of preventing animal exploitation.
Whilst you may reference that all parts of a cow may be used practically, the main reason cows are raised are for dairy and beef. The rest of the cow is then used by the industry as a way of making as much money as they can out of it and producing less waste. However this means that certain breeds of cows are raised specifically as beef cattle to be killed at a younger age when the meat if still tender. This includes the use of castrated young bulls.
Once a dairy cow can no longer produce a good quality of meat, they are shipped off to wherever money can be made. As they are too old to produce a quality of meat that would be saleable, they are generally sent off for use in other products such as dog food.
In short, whilst many products are produced from a cow, most of the exploitation of the animal comes from the dairy and meat industries. As such being a vegan is a valid stance to oppose animal cruelty.
In returning to your image, and understanding that a vegan is someone who “does not eat or use animal products”, I find it quite strange that you assume it is possible to live without all these things, however I think the classification of “manure” as an animal product is very tenuous, unless you want to start classifying air as an animal product too?
To further elaborate my point, just because parts of a cow are used in one variation of a product, does not mean that there are not vegan alternatives to that product.
Finally, I would like to question why you were even prompted to call “all vegans” pretentious? It is a very sweeping statement, and a particularly presumptuous one to make. If you would care to elaborate?
Anyway, I hope this clears up some of your misunderstandings.
Kind Regards,
Tom
P.S. Body image isn’t something that only effects “overweight” people.
I think your comment is fuelled by ignorance. for starts i’m vegan and i’m over weight. Also being over weight inst healthy so thumbs up to them for having the balance of enjoying food and not putting their health at risk. stereotypes are there so people who are narrow minded don’t have to open their eyes and view things in a new light. maybe its time you opened yours before you judge people. they’re not naked so you can scrutinise their bodies and compare yourself to them, the whole point is being comfortable with who you are and what body your in, they are truly liberated – body size is irrelevant
for Kate:
I wish to clear up one or two things regarding veganism.
I often get told that people respect my opinion and therefore I should respect theirs. I’m sorry, but no. I will respect any opinion of yours that does not lead to the imprisonment, abuse and murder of 65 billion land animals every year and literally countless sea creatures. However when you ask me to respect your right to contribute to a system of abuse, particularly on such a terrible scale the answer will always be no. I can no more respect that opinion than one who believes it acceptable for a man to rape his wife. I can no more respect that opinion than one who finds child abuse acceptable. Do not ask me to respect your right to abuse those without a voice.
I also strongly object to the word ‘opinion’ when it comes to veganism. Even if you do not care about species other than your own veganism is not an opinion.
It is not my opinion that there are 7 billion humans in this world, over a billion of whom are starving.
It is not my opinion that the population of the world is expected to rise to 9 billion by 2050.
It is not my opinion that it takes 16 pounds of grain to produce 1 pound of beef.
It is not my opinion that the amount of grain it takes to produce a single steak could feed between 40 and 50 starving children.
It is not my opinion that many African governments are corrupt and sell their nation’s grain to the West as cheap cattle feed.
It is not my opinion that it takes around 2500 gallons of water to produce a pound of beef but only around 290 to produce a pound of soy beans.
It is not my opinion that around 51% of all greenhouse gases can be directly attributed to the meat, dairy and egg industries.
It is not my opinion that 70% of destroyed rainforest is used for grazing hamburger cattle.
It is not my opinion that around 95% of the remainder is used to grow soy for cattle feed.
It is not my opinion that the WHO and the UN have stated that there is not enough space on the planet to feed everyone such an animal heavy diet and that we need to make the transition to veganism to ensure the survival of the human race.
It is not my opinion that human beings are the only animals on the planet who suffer from excess cholesterol.
It is not my opinion that processed meat has been proven time and again to increase the risk of cancer.
It is not my opinion that a plant based diet has been shown to actually reverse the effects of type 2 diabetes.
It is not my opinion that on the whole vegans are less obese than those who consume meat.
It is not my opinion that vegans are less likely to suffer heart attacks than meat consumers.
So please, don’t say anything about respecting my ‘opinion.’ Just look at the facts.
If you don’t care about animals go vegan for other people in countries less affluent than our own.
If you don’t care about people on the other side of the world go vegan for the planet and to ensure that your children and grand children have a good quality of life.
If you don’t care about anything other than your own little bubble, go vegan for yourself.
Hi Jamie,
I’m a life-long vegertarian. I do eat dairy products (yes, that involves death – male calfs are killed and turned into veal etc) and eggs (yum!).
I just wanted to point out that anyone can play that “it is not my opinion game”…
It is not my opinion that it is perfectly possible to sustainably and respectfully farm livestock without wanton abuse and cruelty.
It is not my opinion that grasslands and herding animals like cattle have co-evolved over millenia and are co-dependent.
It is not my opinion that for something to eat something else has to die.
It is not my opinion that most UK vegan diets are uttely dependent on oil and emission intensive industrial farming and long supply chains.
It is not my opinion that much oppression, cruelty and death (of humans, who also happen to be animals) is involved in the production of many plant based foods and goods (of course, buying local organic food from suppliers you can trust eliminates most of this, but just buying plant based foods does not).
It is not my opinion that many animals died and were displaced when a forest was cleared cut to grow many of those plant based foods/ goods.
It is not my opinion that in order to successfully harvest lots of plant based foods lots of slugs, squirrels, rabbits and deers are killed (because if they weren’t there wouldn’t be much food left to harvest).
It is not my opinion that Eskimos and Maasai and many many other indigenous cultures are more sustainabe than UK veganism is (dependent as it is on huge food imports, especially in the winter).
It is not my opinion that WHO and UN reports are ultimately just someone else’s opinion.
It is not my opinion that there will never ever by a wholly vegan world.
It is not my opinion that most people can agree that factory farming of meat is absolutely abhorrent (as is industrial agriculture, IMHO), that eating more fresh fruit and vegetables and less animal products is a good idea on many levels.
etc.
It is my opinion that vegans would get a lot more respect if less of them were to insisit that everyone should follow their personal truths, choices and opinions regardless of their culture or personal preferences of biological needs.
It is my opinion that anyone who says that everyone should do anything, is a fascist.
It is my opinion that there are too many vegan fascists who do an otherwise very worthy pursuit a terrible disservice.
It is my opinion that rather than vehemently attacking anyone who eats or uses any animal products at all (as, indeed pretty much all vegan themselves do either directly or indirectly) the vegan movement would strategically be much MUCH better off aligning with the many MANY people who agree that factory farming abhorrent, and that eating more fresh fruit and vegetables and less animal products is a good idea on many levels.
OK, so there are a lot of problems with veganism, and a lot of problems with vegan evangelism. I’m totally on board with that.
However, please dont call people fascists unless they advocate for an authoritarian nationalist society…!
Fascism is a real threat to our communities, and I think we devalue what that means if we broaden its meaning to include anyone who are a little bit bossy.
Also: Godwins Law http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godwin's_law
i think its good that ur going naked and cooking we only wear clothes cos the world says we have to plus they keep us warm. we dont see animals wearing clothes . i would do it but i am a amputee and could take a while to do it , but well done , a couple less boring people in the world
Kate is an absolute fool.
Haha Kate that’s a pretty wild conclusion. It is EASY to avoid ALL those things they mention with any animal byproducts in them and usually people do before they even become vegan simply out of health concerns. Let me guess are you an impressionable teenager that has fallen for every thing the mainstream media and factory farm lobby has brainwashed your tender little mind with? I am not vegan but I will defend to the death their logic (and trounce anyone that thinks we are supposed to eat meat) and their right to be vegan. Here’s what baffles me, with all the mad cow, salmonella, ecoli and horsemeat scares anyone that still eats cow meat must be in SERIOUS SERIOUS denial. I am not even getting into the absolutely foul, disgusting and unsanitary practices that occur in the food industry. Watch the movie Food Inc. sometime, it might just wake you up. I am not sure how one can go through life being in denial about everything. How do you adamant garbage food eaters do it? What do you do pray at night you won’t get cancer?
Greetings!!! I love this blog, that’s what I would call it, yes? I’m not so savvy at internet dialects.
I love your body positive attitude and the vegan recipes.
so happy to find this!
Thanks, glad you like it
x
Hey Rabbit, (replying here because there was no reply link on your comment above)
Fair enough, I can see how my “fascist” comment could be seen as a bit under the belt. And I totally agree that actual fascism is a very serious threat.
In my defence, I was responding to a comment that began with:
“I often get told that people respect my opinion and therefore I should respect theirs. I’m sorry, but no.”
And “fascist” actually means “relating to or characteristic of fascism”. It is my opinion that such an opening (and the general tone of the comment) was characteristic of ‘fascism’ (as opposed to directly related to an authoritarian nationalist political ideology)
Lovely blog :’)
Thanks
I saw yo guys on the documentary called “my daughter the nudist” and totally agreed with the whole documentary. People who hate vegans are wrong and its your life!
However the one problem i have with “naturism” is that i am a mature teen and took that documentary and those ideas seriosly but there r alot of immature teens out there who would see a “naked protest” and start making sexual remarks! That means its not your fault that “naturism” is not exepted
Harry
P.s. im 14 but took it seriosly
hi Guys
Love the website – great work about promoting body image!
Would love for you guys to get involved with YBN (young british naturists!)
If interested please let me know,
Just sent you an email
Can you go to events and not take off your clothing ? Never been naked in public before but would like to know what it’s like!!
usually events are “clothing optional”, some will say if its naked only. all the events we organise as nakedvegancooking are clothing optional.
O ok cool. The idea of having to take all the my clothing off is a little nerve racking lol. I would have to come alone I think. I not sure that any of my mates would be up for it and Its defo not my bfs thing.
This thing where you can’t have a belief without someone coming along and slagging you off because there are elements of your belief or life that are not perfect so annoys me! Gandhi was a marvelous person who followed his beliefs to such a degree that he even spun his own yarn and handmade his own clothes because he believed that to have others make your goods and clothes is to have then in your servitude, which is wrong. He was a real gent. But, unfortunately we cannot all be Gandhi, and we are not all perfect, but that does not mean that we should not have beliefs! You hold on to your beliefs my friends!!
Neat blog
I thought you meant naked in a less literal way until I clicked on a link! You guys look like fun, and your food sounds tasty.
Thanks
Fun and tasty vegan food are the agenda, feel free to submit a recipe if you feel inspired!

Hi,
I am since many years a vegetarian and a nudist. I like to cook in my birthday suit. I am happy with your group. I have not discovered a sama group in the past.
It’s very good what you are doing in the United Kingdom.
I am from the Netherlands. I hope that I can participate once on a time to an event of your group.
I will follow your activities with very great interest.
I wish you good luck!
Nude greetings,
Joop
This blog is so lovely; promotion of a healthy and kind lifestyle along with a positive body image is simply perfect. I’m going to try some of your recipes out on my non-vegan boyfriend – they’re so nice that I’m sure he’ll enjoy them! I may even try cooking them in the nude if all my housemates are out, I’m sure he would enjoy that too ;D
Would love to come to one of the events but I’m down in Reading.. Anyway, keep up the good work guys!
<3
Thank you so much! Let us know if he likes them? xx

Yoo hoo
I am wondering if you could tell me how I can mask fruits, so I can eat them but not feel like I’m eating them? I really hate the texture of fruits like raspberries, peaches, plums etc, and I hate the taste of kiwi, pineapple etc. I can eat apples, melon and strawberry, but only if they’re chopped really small and covered in some sort of sauce. I want to try and eat more healthy stuff, but fruit just weirds me out! I’ve tried buying various smoothies, but I can’t swallow them lol. And cooked fruit just…no.
Any suggestions? Are there any healthy fruits which aren’t all…smoshy?
Fankoo dears x
I dont know if it counts as cooking fruit but i would totally go for chutney! Ill have a think for you though <3 x
Great stuff guys. Just seen you all on Ch4, very i inspirational might start my own tea parties up like yourselves.
Joanne
YBN the Young British Naturists totally support the ‘Naked Vegans’, for all they stand for, and all they plan to do.
What a great thing for ‘Youth Naturism’ in the UK, and for the vegan public.
We’re with you all the way.
See you at your next public event!
Thanks! Hope to see you soon!
Maybe you could shed some light on my recent comment on the naked vegans page??
This blog is awesome! Please, please PLEASE, submit your story(s) to my vegetarian/ vegan compilation :http://wp.me/p1GQWj-17h
Loving the tv programme and love the blog….havnt tried the food yet but will
Watching the channel 4 prog. led me to this…and i so admire what ur doing, great msg, delivered in a fun, friendly & open minded way, I LOVE IT! keep it up, we need more stuff like this xx
Just watched you all on tv fair play! theres not many people that have the balls to do it
Just watching the documentary you guys are on. I can’t believe how horrible some people have been. You are all such beautiful inspirational people. I love what you’re doing, its a breath of fresh air.
Just watching you delightful people on Channel 4…great blog, great idea and what charming lovely smiley people you are!
Just wanted to say I’m watching the documentary – i think its brilliant what you are doing, ignore the people that are closed minded and rude! I admire what you are doing to be body positive as there is too much body concious in this world
Hiya!
I saw you on channel 4 on ‘my daughter the teenage nudist’. I think you guys are fantastic and I love what you do!
Ignore the idiots on here saying that they don’t like it, (although I know you are already).
I think you are all beautiful people on the inside and out!
Keep up the good work!
God bless you!
Watching “My daughter the teenage nudist” now. I love your positivity and confidence. The world is so full of stereotypical bodies for men and women, and just by cooking in your birthday suits you show that people come in different shapes, and sizes!
Keep up the great work, maybe when i build my confidence up enough, I’ll join in! =)
Just saw your show, thought that police man was so unfair, that is just sexiest in my opion if you wanna be naked do it at your own free will, but just don’t like how other people can use it as a sexually way. Keep running online!
Hi, I’m wanting to promote natural beauty as a photographer. I’m against ‘airbrushing’ for softer skin, longer legs, slim waists etc. I want to photograph people of all different shapes and sizes that are happy with themselves. I wondered if you’d be able to help in any way. Here’s my website if you want to check out some of my work
http://www.webstersphotography.co.uk
Cheers
Hi im a student at UoManchester and have a passing interested in finding out more about your projects and ways to get involved. please email me with some more information
Just watching your program on CH4 and relly think it’s great what your all doing.
Keep up the great work and the recipes are pretty good as well.
I am sitting watching my daughter the teenage nudist, and although i am not personally for it purely because i would feel awkward around someone who didnt have clothes on.. i have found myself rather enoyed watching the part where i think alex darly and the other boy were handing out leaflets and and the policemen walked straight past him even though he had his top off but told alex to put her top on, normally these things would not cross my mind but i just found myself so enoyed! And as a rather unconfident 20 year old i think its brilliant that all of you do this! I am not quite brave enough to try it but i just wanted to say good for you!
Thanks for the comment
Will be writing a blog post about female toplessness vs male toplessness soon!
Just saw you guys on Channel 4 and I’m really inspired. I’m currently in the depths of anorexia…and it’s hard to see my body as anything other than something negative, but I think with a mindset like yours, I’ll be able to recover. I wish there were more people with such positive attitudes towards the human body in the world.
Keep spreading your wonderful message, and thank you~ ♥
Emily, best of luck in fighting your illness- I was anorexic for 4 years and now have not a trace of it left, so I know that it can be beaten! Feminism and naturism are what helped me fight back and recover. xx
Alex, I’m fascinated by your comment about having battled for so long with anorexia. Given where you’re now at, that sounds one heck of a journey, mentally and physically, from self-loathing to self-acceptance. I’m intrigued. Would you think of writng an article about it?
You guys are awesome. naked tea parties for all! (PS: I’m a little bit in love with Luke)
I have never really heard a lot about naturism until watching the channel 4 show. Had a look at your naked vegan cooking website and I must say I have a whole lot of respect for all of you. I will be keeping a watchful eye on this website and if any events happen I am keen to perhaps give naturism a try myself. I’d love to have the body confidence you guys clearly have!! Keep up the good work guys!! Respect for you all
Hi. Posting this whilst watching the C4 programme. What a happy healthy bunch you look. Kudos to Alex for getting her top off leafletting and highlighting the inequity of men being able to get their shirts off everywhere.
Claire
about time that there were changes in so called “Equality”! Same with Civil Partnerships and Marriage! In Canada we were the first to do it—(for a change!)
Would love to come cook with you. The food looks yummy !!
Love the recipes and the site is really inspiring, its nice to see people who are comfortable with themselves and who stand up for what they believe in.
Hi. I have been a naturist for many years and I found the programme an inspiration, I live up in Cumbria and would love to find out about more events like the naked art show.
Keep enjoying and spreading the message.
Cool site dudes. There are still people suffering from apoplexy after folowing this nude dude along behind my canal boat.
One thing:- naked tends to imply vunerable – nude without clothes
Having been a naturist for all of my life:
Being naked where and when ever is so “de-stressing” and natural.
It is NOT all about the body beautiful, it is about being yourself and comfortable with the person that you are .
I am vegan too – love your site and loved seeing you on the Naked Teenage programme last night – I wrote a supportive blog on the nudity subject this morning.
Well done it’s a wonderful way to live, vegan cooking though, you’ve lost the excitement of frying sausages and bacon. Only joking, all the best, though it might have been better to broadcast in June/July as I look out my window now
My wife and I have watched many so called documentary type naturist/nudist type programmes over the years and have always been disapointed with the way the subject matter has been portrayed. I thought you three came across in an excellent manner… well done. We live in the north Manchester area so might get to meet up with you at one of your future events. (thats if you don’t mind really old people (in our 50;s LOL). We have been trying to live the naturist life as best we can for over 20 years
All the best for your future efforts
As a mum of teenagers I want to congratulate you all on promoting positive body image. Well done! In this dreadful time where girls are looking to have breast implants and labiaplasty and boys worried about size as young as 13, to conform with what young people see in porn, your message is so so important. Ignore those ugly posts from people who are ugly on the inside! Stay true to your cause. And vegan food makes you feel good too!
Well done all of you! Enjoyed the programme last night, just disappointed it made no attempt to look at nudity in a wider historical and cultural context. Many of my friends and flatmates in the 70s and 80s were comfortable with nudity, and some (including me) still are – it was a rejection of conformity, of British restraint, prudishness, and narrow-mindedness, and an acceptance of people’s liberty and self-expression. It was also a time when young people first travelled in large numbers to what then seemed remote parts of the world, and embraced the opportunity to experiment with and explore different lifestyles.
Fashions change, British culture became more materialistic, people seemed to become increasingly obsessed with fashion and body image. There seemed to be no young people hankering for simpler and more honest values and relationships. Nudity in popular culture seemed to become equated with drunkenness, exhibitionism and titillation; it was seen as sexual rather than sensual.
I’m very glad that you and your mates are rediscovering and encouraging nudism and body acceptance. I don’t suppose the whole country will embrace it, but I hope some day it will be normal and natural for anyone to wear as much or as little as they wish at home, on the beach, in a park, and in their garden, without embarrassment to themselves or anyone else.
Good luck!
PS I think that policeman who told Alex to put her shirt on was wrong about the law – unless a member of the public (NOT an on-duty policeman) had complained that they were offended or outraged, or if she was causing an obstruction, or a breach of the peace had occurred or seemed likely. It all looked very calm and light-hearted from what was shown on TV. And there’s the question of intent too – I think a prosecution would only succeed if someone was shown to intend to offend through their nudity.
Do you all have separate twitter accounts that I can follow?
jess is @charliethescarf
luke is not on twitter
alex is @zari86
I have just watched the channel 4 program “My Daughter The Teenage Nudist” and I have been absolutely inspired by this blog.. I’m lactose intolerant as well and I have real body issues and the fact that you all have the bravery to stand up to the world and be like.. we like vegan cooking, we like our bodies and we are not looking to promote the perfect imagery that is now plastered all over different types of media be it “model shows” or “model magazines” I don’t think I could ever get naked in public but I do regularly at home because I feel comfortable with myself at home but I am absolutely in full support of what you guys are doing.. and the recipes looks absolutely gorgeous too, I can not wait to try them out! Yum.
Cheers, and Thank you for restoring my faith in people who like their bodies the way they are
x
guys and dolls …big vegan love bubbles to ya all. watched the show last night and felt fuckin liberated (definitely a few air punches were thrown in there as added excitment at how ‘proud’ i am of you guys for doing this and looking badass while you do it)
i hadnt come across the site before bit ill definitely be sharing it around and spreadin the word without a doubt. keep up the AWSOME positive messages of veganism and nudity.
being vegan you not only know that your body is beautiful on the inside but having seen the show, your all beautiful on the outside too.
to all the negativity gracing this awsome page… ‘free your mind and the rest will follow.’
poppy-moon x
The police should not persecute and harass you for being naked. It is your body not theirs and you should be allowed to wear or not wear clothes if you wish. There is nothing indecent about the human body, it is only low intelligence ignorant people that think being naked is indecent and unfortunately these people make the rules and enforce them. You could always claim political assylum in Denmark where being nude is legal. Good luck to you all and don’t let ignorant people put you off going naked.Perhaps with more people like you there will be freedom in Britain one day..
There is a city in the south of France called Cap D’Agde where everyone goes naked. There are supermarkets, banks, cafes, newsagents, a nice beach and you can go anywhere without clothes. There are police walking around but they do not harass naturists because they are only looking for genuine crime like theft. It is great and it seems far advanced compared to Britain.
If only it were so – but Cap d’Agde (the area you’re referring to anyway – “Village Naturiste”) is a privately-owned holiday village, not the product of some enlightened and liberal town planners. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cap_d'Agde. I camped there once, many years ago. Very nice place, but definitely not open to the general public.
In my opinion the girl who took here top off and was innocently standing when a policeman approached her was the victim of insulting behaviour from the policeman. Firstly she was just standing going about her own buisiness when she was approached by the policeman, which could seem to be threatening in itself. She was then insulted by the policeman implying that she was indecent(which was completely untrue)and told to put her top on which is menacing because the girl should not be spoken to in such a forceful and intimidating manner. The policeman should be prosecuted for behaviour likely to cause distress, insulting behaviour, a breach of the girl’s peace and threatening behaviour. The girl did nothing wrong and should not have to put up with unwelcome approaches when in a vulnerable position.
you guys are AMAZING, honestly there should be more people in the world like you! and don’t take any of the negative responses into account as anyone who criticizes you is simply just afraid of the bold statement that you are making! CARRY ON BEING AMAZING
Just watched the show on channel 4. I don’t find myself wanting to be a naturist / nudist or vegan, but I did find you all incredibly inspirational. It’s so refresing to see people who want to make others aware that they can be comfortable with themselves, having overcome such hurdles yourseves. Big thumbs up from me, you all seem great.
After seeing the channel 4 documentary and checking out your blog, I’m although I’m not a vegan I am definitely going to be trying out some of your gorgeous looking recipes.
You all seem to have a great outlook on life and it really came across on the show.
Hi, saw the documentary yesterday, thought it was awesome how you challenged that police officer and I completely agree. I hate how it’s OK for men to do certain things but us not women. We should all be treated as equals!
Hi, I am from India, I saw the documentary this evening! I am not here to judge, you vegans have the right to live yoiur lives as you please be clothed or naked. But just beware that there are perves who do not see this kind of a lifestyle as it is, just take care of yourselves, and have a can of pepper spray ready!!!!
unfortunately we dont have any pockets to keep the pepperspray in. but thanks for the concern!
What a great programme and out of everyone who appeared in it you came across by far the best. The YBN guy was fanatical about enrolling people into a group that doesn’t seem to do much for nudism. Mollie and her friends only appeared interested in the thrill of being naked. I liked the way your group just enjoyed being naked and used it as a way of promoting good body images. I’d love to join your group because you seem like a genuinely nice bunch of people but unfortunately I’m not a vegan and I live too far away. Maybe I should start a Naked Omnivore Cooking group.
Just watched the C4 documentary, what an inspiring, motivating programme this was. I thought the naked tea party was such a briilliant idea, it should become a national event! The idea that friends can live like this in cohousing and share their thoughts(and food) in such an honest, open way is wonderful. Perhaps the next stage is to grow some of the food that features in the recipes (naked garden ?!) Thank you for sharing
one of our housemates has been busy trying to turn our swamplike garden into a vegetable paradise today. hopefully we shall see the benefits come harvest time!
naked gardening is my faaaavourite, can I come over and help, Jess?
Definately! Although it might be a cold at the moment for naked gardening! Have you heard about the Urban Gardening Project that our housemate Michelle is running?
Ha, yes, definitely gonna wait for summer
no, what’s the urban gardening project? incidentally, I saw a woman the other day planting flowers round a public tree on the road which I thought was a lovely thing to do!
i totally love what you are doing, i could never give up meat or dairy but i wouldn’t mind trying some of your food and maybe getting naked!
Inspiring programme on C4 last night. I was a repressed boy, prudish parents, and a poor body image (scrawny) till I was on a beach in Greece when I was 24 and that got me beyond the Oh, F**k it! moment and the kit came off. Been increasingly naturist in the 38 years since and now regulatly go to French resorts and live naked when I can. Alex said it was her dream come true and I now feel the same and host naturist (absolutely non sexual) socials (was via the defunct HON site) and we do vegan and vegetarian food at our events too (with a hot tub theme). Not thought of tea parties but we might work on it! A nationwide chain of parties might do the promotion Daryl seeks, but most people seem to get happy enough with their bodies by their 40s it seems, so might not help the YBN recruitment! I cook veggie for my boyfriend and by taking some ingredients out I can make them vegan. I’ll send you the best ones. Brilliant movement – well done – develop the network!
Thanks!
some people need to respect others and treat with manners and stop trying to hurt others
thanks any information on gardening project yet mark
Just watched the documentary and heard you reading really negative comments. I think you came across really well. I have just lost 9 stone and am signed up to do some liafe modelling. all people are acceptable no matter what their body looks like. I am fortunate enough to have grown up with parents who were comfortable with their nudity at any age x
Rach
Hi I watched the documentary and viewed your webpage. i thought the documentary was good. i thought Alex looked gorgeous. I must say i dont get it are you VEGANS or naturists . if you are VEGAN what is it with being hairy. my girlfriend is a True VEGAN and she has not got hairy legs or armpits.
badboy
I didnt think hairy and vegan were mutually exclusive traits…?
Your blog is inspiring- just heard some of the negative comments on the Teenage Nudist program. Sod the haters
it’s so refreshing to see normal bodies- if normal people were in the media more often perhaps the youth of tomorrow would have less body related self esteem issues!
Loved you guys on channel 4, kindred spirits. You have a new ‘fan’ and I’ll definitely be trying some of your recipes
In the Channel 4 show you seemed to make a big deal about girls not being allowed to walk around topless but guys can. Well, I see the female as having two private parts, the vagina and her boos, while the man only has one which is his penis. In my view and I’m sure many others, a girl walking around topless with her boobs out is the same as a guy walking around the streets with his penis out and I’m sure that’s something 99% of people would object against, just like 99% of people object against a girl going out topless.
Daniel is entitled to his opinion but reading his reply leaves me with a great sadness
I’d just like to say, Luke has a lovely smile!
Forgot to mention that in the Manchester naked bike ride day the police OK’d it and I understand even helped out on the day. That makes the treatment of Alex in the City Centre even more outrageous
Wow! You are an inspiration! The airbrushed society has done a lot of damage to the body confidence of so many people. Thank you for your courage in taking a stand and reminding us that we are all beautiful.
Loved the show, it made me smile a lot, I love the zest for life everyone has – keep it up! Good luck in the future
(from an ex airbrush toting, photoshop wielding graphic designer… now turned landscape architect!)
Just seen you on 4OD and wanted to say good on you guys! Its about time something like this should happen, I think its great and would love to get involved with something like this one day in the future. PS. tell Luke, why did he ever has self confidence issues? His body is lovely ^^ … fellow vegetarian/aspiring vegan from Nottingham Anna x
So… I just watched the documentry with you guys in it… I really wish I knew you all in person… you all seem totally awesome. I give you all the respect I can possibly give you, not only do I admire you for what you do, but also participating in the documentry itself, i’m 18, hoping to become a vegan in the next couple of months and then go onto being a raw foodest (sad… i would no longer be able to follow you recipies :’( ) admittedly i’m not a nudest, my reason, I guess the lack of confidence… although i know thats going against the point of… well the point of what you’re doing, and I don’t know your names… but one of you explained how actually you don’t have or didn’t have confidence in your own body… but I’m open minded and some of the things you said… you guys in particular really stood out for me… and I’ll always keep it in my mind,
thank you
Awesome blog, Respect to you guys,
heya,
.
I have just come across the programme you were featured on on channel 4. I had to check out this website, I am all for what your doing think you rule and wish you all the best with your work. Anything which benefits society is ok by me and combating this ‘perfect body image’ non-sense in the media is definitely long over due, hopefully your website, you people and other’s who are like minded will be able to make some difference so that people old or young male or female wont have to feel the need to obsess over their image to make everyone else happy and conform to an ideal which is not even a reality & those who come here to spread negativity clearly have some issues that need addressing in themselves. You’re all brilliant
Peace & Love
Lozza
Hey!
I just saw you in the programme you featured in online, and was shocked by the negative responses you were reading out from your Twitter!
You are all beautiful people in many different ways. No one is perfect – far less those who seem to think they are gods! Don’t ever get yourself down or take it to heart of someone insults you, calls you fat or says they want to see more melons!!! People are stupid, and ignorance is sadly commonplace these days.
Keep up the great work, and stay nude!!
Dan
Decided to check out this site after watching “My Daughter the Teenage Nudist”. What a lovely idea to promote positive body image through food. Keep up the good work!
you are what you eat. filling your face with dead animals does not make sense. unless you want to be walking around like a zombie… xx
i think the phrase – hit the nail on the head is in order here – well said
Good on you people, you are beautiful, every one of you, and it is such a fantastic thing to do, what an inspiration!! Keep it up!xxx
Thank YOU & yours for
ALL THAT YOU DO…
Being a complete meat eater , I wouldn’t have come across your website unless I watched “My daughter the teenage Nudist” I think its really great what you are doing. Personally I haven’t tried nudism myself but your views on how we need to boost peoples self esteem with their body image is a fantastic one.
Just watched the “My Daughters a Teenage Nudist” good programme, but bad policeing by the sexist copper! Have fun stay naked and natural.
Ian
have u guys ever thaught of doing a nutritional value page/section for your recipies? like calorie counting or something?
I have just read a very robust defence of veganism and find the points very interesting. I think I am a fairly confirmed meat eater but would happily reduce my meat intake. In light if media coverage this week that suggested that a lot of people are borderline or clinically anaemic by them switching from red meats to chicken and fish; newspaper articles were advocating more red meat!. How do vegans manage to ensure sufficient iron and protein in their diet? For someone like me, some clear suggestions and advice could make the difference to whether a meal contained meat or not. And from little acorns…
Inspirational contribution to the C4 programme Alex and a brilliant article on topfree.
I keenly sensed your upset in Piccadilly Gardens but you remained calm and articulate. I got the strong feeling of a warm tenderness between you all in the house. The gardens in Wiltshire looked like Paradise.
I was out with my niece in London recently and she breastfed without comment at the cafe of the British Library and at an Italian opposite the National Portrait Gallery. It reminded me of her being breastfed 30 years ago and the wonderful continuity of that just filled me with great joy. Breastfeeding is the perfect human instance where neediness is satisfied by unconditional love via wordless communication. Perhaps as adults it is only through our pets can we replicate this tactile intimacy.
All the best for future projects, especially the 14th Feb night.
Ever thought of starting up a nude reading group in your burrow? I’m more LRB than vegan cooking myself….
Joe
nude reading group sounds awesome!
I think this blog is wonderful. All the body positiveness is fab, I myself am not vegan but vegetarian and the recipes are so good. Thank you for doing such a good job.
Amazing!! I love it!!! I am becoming more naked by the second! Loved seeing you on Channel 4 the other day, real inspiration.
Keep on being beautiful, epic naked vegans and generally some of the best people I’ve ever seen!
<3
Love the blog, the recipes and the naked-ness. It’s awesome =) All my friends think that going to any naked events would be weird but I really want to try. I live in london, any idea where I should look? Keep cooking <3
good thing we’re not vegan. i think it’s good to eat vegan the majority of the time, but you gotta chomp on a ltitle cheese or fish like once a week or else you die. or something.
Hi–I just came upon this site yesterday while looking for vegetarian/vegan recipes. I have to say it was a pleasant surprise, I’ve always been a bit of a “nudie” myself, since then I have watched the documentary, and I really admire the way you are not afraid to go public, and I like the recipes as well. Please ignore the nasty anti-nude/anti vegan posts, people are just afraid of people who challenge there pre-conceptions.
Not a vegan or a naturist (or nudist, or whatever you like) but I think you lot are great! I lived in Finland for a bit where people are much more open about naked bodies-all those saunas-and found it so liberating, and nothing to do with sex itself. Fat, skinny, tattooed, whatever, it was lovely to remember no body is perfect and all can be beautiful. xx
Just wondering how important being full blown vegan as opposed to just vegatarian is to people who read this blog? I would not be vegan, but I am slowly going that way, I am beginning to feel guilty eating an egg now in the way that at one time I used to feel guilty eating meat, until I stopped.
Hi Josef,
Ive replied in-line to your post…. sorry to reply in CAPS – its only to distinguish my replies- im not shouting!
Hi Jamie,
I’m a life-long vegertarian. I do eat dairy products (yes, that involves death – male calfs are killed and turned into veal etc) and eggs (yum!).
DO YOU CONSIDER IT OK FOR ANIMALS TO DIE IN YOUR NAME? i DONT THINK IM WORTHY FOR ANYTHING TO DIE FOR ME. I NEVER LIKED CHICKEN PERIODS ANYWAY…
I just wanted to point out that anyone can play that “it is not my opinion game”…
THE POINT OF ‘NOT MY OPION IS THAT THEEY ARE FACTS, NOT JUST ‘I THINK….’
It is not my opinion that it is perfectly possible to sustainably and respectfully farm livestock without wanton abuse and cruelty.
YES, NOT ALL ANIMALS ARE ABUSED – BUT THEY ARE KILLED (THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS HUMANE SLAUGHTER, LIKE NO SUCH THING AS HUMANE RAPE) – EVEN DAIRY COWS ARE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF – CONSTANTLY PUT IN TO CALF BEFORE BEING KILLED AT AN EARLY AGE WHEN MILK YIELDS ARE REDUCED – THEY DONT LIVE TO DIE OF OLD AGE.
It is not my opinion that grasslands and herding animals like cattle have co-evolved over millenia and are co-dependent.
THERE ARE OTHER SUSTAINABLE WAYS TO MANAGE GRASSLANDS….
It is not my opinion that for something to eat something else has to die.
UMM REALLY? WHY? i EAT WEELL AND NOTHING DIES FOR MY PLATE
It is not my opinion that most UK vegan diets are uttely dependent on oil and emission intensive industrial farming and long supply chains.
THERE IS SUCH A THING AS A BAD VEGAN DIET – BUT I DOUBT ITS ‘MOST’ – VEGANS DO SO THROUGH AN ETHICAL CHOICE – ITS A LIFESTYLE NOT JUST A DIET. wHERE IS THE LONG SUPPLY CHAIN OF THE VEG THAT I EAT? iTS ABOUT TREADING LIGHTLY… ITS NOT OK TO THINK ‘WELL MY VEG IS FROM A SUPERMARKET, GROWN ABROAD SO ILL EAT WHATEVER COS IT DOESNT MATTER’!
It is not my opinion that much oppression, cruelty and death (of humans, who also happen to be animals) is involved in the production of many plant based foods and goods (of course, buying local organic food from suppliers you can trust eliminates most of this, but just buying plant based foods does not).
PLEASE IDENTIFY THE CRUELTY AND OPPRESSION YOU MENTION – THIS SEEMS OPINION NOT FACT TO ME
It is not my opinion that many animals died and were displaced when a forest was cleared cut to grow many of those plant based foods/ goods.
NEALRY ALL RAINFOREST ETC HAS BEEN CLEARED TO RAISE MEAT CATTLE. IF THE LAND USED FOR MEAT (INCLUDING AFRICA ETC) WAS USED FOR PLANT BASED PRODUCTS, THERE WOULD BE AENOUGH LAND – AS HAS BEEN SHOWN IN A HARVARD UNI STUDY
It is not my opinion that in order to successfully harvest lots of plant based foods lots of slugs, squirrels, rabbits and deers are killed (because if they weren’t there wouldn’t be much food left to harvest).
I AGREE IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO BE ‘COMPLETELY’ VEGAN – HOWEVER IT IS PERFECTLY POSSIBLE TO GROW VEG ETC USING NATURAL METHIDS THAT DISCOURAGE PESTS (I DO THIS). YOUR POINT HOWEVER DOES NOT EXCUDE THE DIRECT ABUSE & SLUAGHTER ASSOCIATED WITH MEANT AND DAIRY
It is not my opinion that Eskimos and Maasai and many many other indigenous cultures are more sustainabe than UK veganism is (dependent as it is on huge food imports, especially in the winter).
MOST INDIGINOUS CULTURES ARE NOT MEAT BASED – IT IS A LUXURY – THEY EXIST MOSTLY ON PLANT BASED DIETS. INUITS MAY BE AN EXCEPTION DUE TO THE ENVIRONMENT THEY ARE IN.
It is not my opinion that WHO and UN reports are ultimately just someone else’s opinion.
UMM – NO. THEY STRIVE TO BE OBJECTIBE BASED ON EMPRICAL RESEARCH – NOT OPINION.
It is not my opinion that there will never ever by a wholly vegan world.
YOUR POINT IS…?
It is not my opinion that most people can agree that factory farming of meat is absolutely abhorrent (as is industrial agriculture, IMHO), that eating more fresh fruit and vegetables and less animal products is a good idea on many levels.
YES, AND….?
etc.
A further point is – we have evolved to be able to CHOSE – WE CAN LIVE HAPPILY AND HEALTHILY NOT EATIGN MEAT / DAIRY (WHICH IS BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH BTW – IT LEACHES CALCIUM FROM YOUR BONES, NOT ADDS TO IT – STUDIES SHOW DIRECT CORRELATIONS BETWEEN THE AMOUNT OF DAIRY A CULTURE CONCUMES AND THE AMOUNT OF OSTEOPOROSIS ETC (POSITIVE CORRELATION). i DONT SEE A SINGLE ETHICAL, MORAL, HEALTH REASON TO CONSUME MEAT OR DAIRY
It is my opinion that vegans would get a lot more respect if less of them were to insisit that everyone should follow their personal truths, choices and opinions regardless of their culture or personal preferences of biological needs.
IF NON-VEGANS ONLY HARMED THEMSELVES I WOULDNT REALLY CARE – SO LONG AS THEY WERE EDUCATED ABOUT FOOD SOURCES AND MADE THAT CHOICE. HOWEVER THEY ARE ARE ALSO HARMING PLANET WHICH I LOVE, AND 59 BILLION ANIMALS THAT ARE SLAUGHTERED (EXCLUDING SEA CREATURES) IN THE UK EACH YEAR – WHICH KIND OF MAKES IT MY BUSINESS.
It is my opinion that anyone who says that everyone should do anything, is a fascist.
THATS JUST SILLY. ASSUMING THE COMMENT IS MADE AT ME, MY POINTS ARE COUCHED ENTIRELY IN RESEARCH. I WONT GET DRAWN IN TO NAME CALLING. IF THAT IS THE LEVEL THEN YOU REALLY ARE SCRAPING THE BARREL
I CANNOT CONDONE EATIGN ANY ANIMALS PRODUCTS AT ALL – ITS NOT A DEFENSIBLE ARGUMENT. THATS JUST LIKE SAYING ONE DOESNT LIKE CHILD ABUSE MUCH, BUT AS IT HAPPENS A FEW IS OK. NONSENSE.
Jamie–well, whilst that was not a reply to my question directly it certainly has answered it from you, but I would still be interested in the points of view of others. Maybe I will expand on my question, or at least on the reasons I asked it.
I became a vegetarian because (i) I do not agree with killing animals (ii) I believe that we should minimise interference with the environment.
The second reason is more the one that comes into play in my mind when it comes to eating things like shrimps, I know that quite a few vegetarians will eat the likes of shrimps as they do not have a central nervous system and for that reason some consider it unrealistic to class them as an animal in the same way that a pig is an animal. I do think that dredging the seabed for shell fish, has done serious harm, as has intensive fishing by super trawlers. Because the sea looks the same after you have taken the fish out of it as it did before people tend to assume that no harm is being done.
It is also possible however to claim that when we wipe down a kitchen surface we are killing animal bacteria, if I started getting rats in my kitchen I would have no qualms about getting rid of them. Last year ravens built a nest in our chimney, which we use, and I got a chimney sweep to remove it, there were no eggs in it, but I suppose I could be accused of interfering with the life cycle of the birds.
Whilst I am rapidly going off the use of milk as I do feel that the process of milk production crosses the boundary of what is acceptable use/misuse of animals, I am not so sure about free range eggs from genuine free range hens, I know many see this as exploitation of hens, and I can certainly see where they are coming from, but in my current state of mind this would fall on the acceptable side of the boundary. (Ironically I avoid eating too many eggs for health reasons, but then I drink wine and beer which doesn’t do me much physical good either). I have no qualms about honey.
So–opinions please.
I am 36 years old and have been a vegetarian since the age of 14. I am overweight but I love who I am as does my fiance and that is all that matters. I pay no mind to how people view me or my way of life as it is just that, MY life. We should all feel proud that we have the sense of spirit to be ourselves and embrace life. People who judge others on their weight or their looks must feel very sad inside. The only true ugliness is within the attitude of the negative. Stay positive, stay proud and love yourself. You have one go at this so don’t let the bad people influence your thoughts. Best of luck guys, very inspiring blog x
you guys are awesome! lots of natural goodness!
Hi from Spain! Your page was recommended by friends back in the UK. We are both vegetarians and naturists spending as much time living the naturist lifestyle as possible. We just want to say what a fantastic thing you’ve got going there! We soooo wish we could go to your Valentines night event! What a great idea. Even though we can’t attend we just want to wish you good luck and love from this part of the world. We’re so envious!!!! Neil and Fatima xx
Just watched your programme and think this is like, fantastic! If I felt like I could then I’d join you lol xxx
Hello there,, your father Mr Bradly sent me here..
He was lecturing Us about great ideas and your blog was an example of one
Have fun and Regards
Have just watched the channel 4 documentary, you are all very inspiring
I think you are all amazingly beautiful and inspirational in your own ways! It’s nice to see people so open and happy in this world – it’s actually made me really happy reading this blog! ( i found you on “My Daughter the Teenage Nudist” from Channel 4 ( Brilliant!
I love your recipes. I am by no means a vegan. Since i have a digestive problem that keeps me from digesting plant, meat is a heavy part of my diet. It sux, but mother nature built me that way. I do, however love to cook (i’m learning to become a chef). I have worked as a chef before. I am also a nudist. Very proud of it. I am an American who once lived in Kingston upon Hull UK. Loved it, wish i would have stayed. I want to say thank you.
I just want to say you are as a group Inspirational and a beautiful individuals. You make me feel happy about being human!
Hi,
I have just seen the 4oD documentary in which your project featured. I found your project uplifting and inspirational, as you said in the documentary, identity is a significant problem were it is governed and exploited by an industry rather than ourselves.
Replication seems to be catalyst for people not accepting each other and themselves. There is far too much emphasis on looking like something else, something unattainable to that of self expression and pride. I too live in Manchester and observe the intimidation of marketed ‘images’ that affect/target so many young people daily. That I believe is immoral not nudity, which in itself is free and targets nobody. The irony is clothing ‘fashion’ is making it acceptable to wear less and less but the attitude to nudity remains unchanged on the whole, still being perceived in a purely sexual manner. I hope that people who viewed the documentary start similar projects too
A message for Alex
I found this blog while looking for naturist sights, http://nudewalk.blogspot.co.uk/
It contains a naked picture of you and I thought you should know about it, if you don’t already. Sorry about telling you publicly but I have no other way to contact you.
If they have your permission then please ignore this email.
All the best
John
I’ve just finished watching ‘My Daughter The Teenage Nudist’. I think you’re very inspirational. I have just started taking the first steps to recovering from an eating disorder, and, whilst I still have a very long way to go, seeing your project at work has been a great source of comfort to me. People need to be more confident in their own skin no matter what their body shape. Keep up the good work (and the cooking!).
Everyone choses the lifestyle they are the most comfortable and at peace with them own selves. I really don’t know why people may have problem with you guys, in the end, they also have a lifestyle they couldn’t change because that is their belief and just a way they live. No one should take that away, so we should accept everyone. If anything just keep away from it if you don’t like it, but don’t discourage them or force anything you think is right onto them, because it might not be. I think that’s the main key to being a good community – even thou you stay away from most of the people in it, due to different opinions
That massaman looks amazing, looking forward to trying it. Hopefully it will hold up to the amazing ones Thailand!
Love the idea I’m general and wish I was confident enough to do something like this. And I’m totally amazed at how rude and out of order some people can be!
I expect most of you know about this already, but just in case:
http://wiki.worldnakedbikeride.org/wiki/London
It is the best introduction ever to the exhilaration of outdoor social nudity, and is for a very good cause, too!
Saw you all on TV and it was really intriguing to the fact I came and logged on and googled your website, was such a great insight and learnt a lot from you. Thank you.
Dear people. I love your nakedness, and your delicious vegan food. For everybody trying to pick holes in nice things please stop. You are all beautiful, loves xxx
Well done awesome naked bloggers!! Keep up the good work
I just saw you guys on tv! I think it’s cool what you’re doing. I’m definitely gonna try out some of your recipes too
Hello. I also saw you in the Channel 4 documentary.. but I had to download it since it is unavailable in my country. Anwyay, great–continue as you are !
Interesting discussion about veganism up the top there.. Blimey you guys and gals have to put up with a fair amount of negativity! Let it just bounce off your beautiful naked bodies!
Love your blog and what it’s about. I live in Manchester so now that I have signed up to your events thingamebob I look forward to coming to an event soon! Ta da x
I just discovered this site and am thrilled about the discovery. I’ve been a naturist for a couple of years and just recently became vegan. I have a vegan lasagna I whipped up recently that I’ll try and post soon. Anyone in or near Florida?
i don’t know why people are being so negative in these comments. Being a vegan, or being naked is a lifestyle choice. If they don’t like it, they don’t have to do it – so they shouldn’t criticize others for it. Anyway, i certainly wouldn’t expose my body to the public, but good on you guys for doing something you feel passionate about. If society and the media didn’t cause so many people to have body issues im sure a lot of other people would join in. I think its a good way, and encourage you all, to really confront and attack the medias ‘perfect body’ image.
I saw your blog on a channel 4 documentary by the way, incase you wanted to know.
I have just watched the channel 4 documentary, I found it very ermm intersting…I think it is amazing how some of you are doing this to get over your body issues, however I did agree with one of the comments made by a young girl on the show. She said she disagreed with the two best looking couple taking their tops off to promote a real body!! I have had body dysmorphia since I was a young child, it was caused by my dad watching programs (such as Eurotrash or any programme containing topless women) when I was young. It has made me insecure about my breasts, causing myself to have a breast augmentation, refusing to watch nudity on tele, having trouble with going to beaches abroad which may contain topless women!!! Whats your opinion on how you make women feel when their husbands or vice versa look at you??…are you causing more problems. Because from my point of view..if I had seen you topless handing out flyers and I was with my partner, i would have been left feeling insecure, upset and genuinally down!! I agree us as a population need to realise the women/men in magazines are not real and the human body should not be seen as a sexual thing, however I dont know whether nudist bike rides and public declerations are the right way forward??? I hope I havnt offended anyone but I love your ideas and would love to know if you had thought about women like me??
Hey Jessie, thanks for the comment. To be honest, the girl in the documentary had a very compelling point which made the documentary more interesting!
Personally, i think its important to note the difference between real bodies and bodies in the media which have been photoshopped, makeup-ed, and generally made to be totally unattainable for most people. These are, in general, much more damaging (to me at least, I cant speak for anyone else). It is true that Alex and Darryl seem to be considered to be conventionally quite attractive, but their choice to go nude (like all of us on this site, really) has been the culminaton of a long journey fighting self esteem around body issues. Most nudist events have a really large diversity in terms of body size, etc. (less so skin colour, unforunately) and I have personally found being around people of all shapes and sizes, whilst naked (and no-one giving a shit!) to be quite liberating. We believe that showing a wide range of body types is a great way of showing people that the media beauty standard is so far from normal that it is not worth paying attention to.
Love to hear your thoughts further
Jess x
Thank you for getting back to me!!!! I think as long as the people that become nudists are doing it for the right reason and the bodies taking part are normal and real, I completely stand behind what you are all about, but what worries me is when women and men are doing it because they like the attention (i.e strippers, glamour models (without being stereotypical to all strippers and glamour models)). Do you object to people like that becoming nudists???
Thank you
Not per se. At our events we have a policy of kicking out people who we feel are behaving inappropriately, either by being oppressive (racist, sexist, aggressive, whatever), by being sexual or by making people uncomfortable in other ways. We havent yet had to kick anyone out.
I really appreciate your blog and events
A question: I was very dissapointed yesterday. One of the few dairy based things that I miss is rice pudding; not the stuff in tins but the ones you made by putting pudding rice and milk in a casserole dish in the oven for a couple of hours. Yesterday I had a go at making this using “almond milk” (Tesco’s best!), I was really looking forward to it, and well, I ate it but it came out more like sweet porridge than rice pudding, Has anyone any suggestions?
your blog is simply wonderful!
Thanks for a positive blog about the benefits of Naturism.I have been a naturist for about 25 years after going to Ibiza and having my first experience of naked sunbathing and swimming. It would be nice to see some more young people in the movement and naturist beaches and sauna/club nights etc.Does everybody know that there is a naturist night at the Dome in Stoker about 4 or 5 times a year. Its a fun night and there are slides,a wave machine and many other things to do on the night. Its fully naturist and a nice atmosphere and I can recommend it.Lets go for it and have a nice mixture of different people with the same number females and males. Thanks guys D
Amazing – I wish I’d known about you when I lived near manc (am in western isles of Scotland now). Am so on board with the body freedom concept. Would love to come attend one of your events sometime. Also keen to host like-minded people for naked wild camping events in the wilderness up here.
hi Stephen,In reply to your message I think the wild camping Idea would be interesting in the summer and near a loch maybe. There are many quiet areas in the uk where this may take place, the only problem I see would be getting permission from the land owner if you wanted to do this the legal way”not that I am any expert you understand”I would send the Central council for British Naturism “ccbn”an email ans see what there view point is if that helps.
Regards Darren
I think body confidence is an amazing skill to have
I luv u guys
Are there any events iin Worcestershire
I just watched the documentary on 4od and I must say it was very inspiring! I have very low confidence when it comes to my own body and struggle to go swimming in public pools but watching the documentary and looking through this blog has got me pondering looking for naked events! Perhaps they would be an answer to improving my own self-confidence. I think it’s wonderful that you so comfortably chill out naked and you’re such a fantastic advert for body-positivity, I think particularly for young people. The way we are pressured these days in to looking completely perfect is terrible. It’s upsetting to see kids so obsessed with their own and other peoples’ appearances when they should be recognising the fact that everybody is different and celebrating individuality. On the cooking side of things, I’m not a vegan (or a vegetarian, for that matter) but your recipes look really scrummy and I’m definitely going to give some of them a go! I’m aware of the arguments for veganism and vegetarianism and while it’s just not my choice of lifestyle right now, I also congratulate you for sticking by your principles. I’ve never understood why people so harshly criticise vegans. In fact, it completely baffles me! It’s your choice and it’s not harming anybody. Not even animals. Anyway, thank you for the inspiration and for putting a smile on my face!
Hi Leigh.I read your comments about body confidence and thought I would reply. The only thing that I would say is that Naturism for me is positive as there are people from all walks of life and many shapes and sizes.it is the natural human being in all its glory and a great leveler as clothes for me are a status of your class and conformity in society.when everyone id naked then this conformity is taken away and we are all equal.when I have been to events there are people with dissabilatys that attend and some in wheelchairs etc.
There are many naturist clubs/beaches and swimming/sauna meets around the uk and all I would say is give them a go.well hope this helps a little and there is always CCBN the Central Council for British Naturism for more information.
Regards Darren
Hi i am really interested in what you do and only come across it through the my daughter the teenage nudist on channel 4 but i wouldnt know where to start to get involved. could you get in touch with me to give me some friendly advise? even if the clubs full i’d like to know where to find younger nudist clubs
Many Thanks Jamie x

Hi again everyone and a special hello to all the folks who have emailed me regarding naturism.Had a very nice evening a couple or so weeks ago at the stoke naturist swim, that was held at the the dome in stoke.it was nice to see such a mixed set of people from young to old.We had a fun time going on the slides and chilling in the jacuzzi and could not imagine ever wearing clothes again after being naked for 3 hours.Oh well we all have to follow the rules I suppose as don’t want to offend.Being a naturist and having gone to resorts such as Cap Dadge in the south of France and the feeling of just being free is just owesome. Most Naturists want to shout from the highest building to let everyone one know that they can be free from convention and hangups, that people and society burden all with.If anyone wants some info on Naturism then please feel free to contact me and I will try and help.Great site by the way and keep up the great work.Darren
I just wanted to say that I think what you are doing is really cool and a very positive thing to do. I am from New Zealand and saw a documentary about you and I thought it was inspiring. I am sad that there are people who say nasty things to you. Also the food looks delicious!
Thanks!
Hi guys nice site good luck to all with what you do.
Ive mailed to ask , do you take advertising on this site? if so reply via my email and i am willing to discuss with you all.
regards
franki
We dont take ads on the site, sorry!
I’ve just watched the Channel 4 doco featuring you guys and just wanted to write and say good for you. It’s not my thing and I couldn’t do it myself but good on you for living your life the way you want to and in a way that doesn’t impact on others. I can’t understand why so many people feel the need to leave negative comments regarding the choices you have made in your own lives, perhaps there is the perceived threat of a descent into anarchy or an ingrained prudishness drummed into us since childhood but regardless, good for you. I can imagine it would be a liberating existance. Well done on the site and keep up the great work expanding all those closed minds. Cheers from Oz
Watched the documentary and i was like AMAZING, went straight to your site.
I’m vegan so this is perfect to get cooking ideas but i also love your ideology promoting being happy about your body because we really have oversexualised the body for instance breastfeeding in public is deemed as a weird, but it’s totally natural!
I love what your all doing, i so want to move in with you guys haha
I just watched a show on channel 4, I think a repeat or something, that featured your blog.
I am neither a vegan nor a nudist, but I found what you are doing most inspiring.
I think the world needs many more people who challenge false ideas and ingrained conditioning, both personal and societal.
A lot of the nasty, or should I say, idiotic comments, or people who had problems with it, were really sad, because most of them are simply products of the whole catastrophe of centuries of repression that needs to be brought down. Actually, torn down! Anyway, well done, good luck, and stay naked.
Oh, one more thing: I noticed that when you were handing out flyers for the tea party, a girl was complaining that you had two ‘beautiful’ people as the ones naked.
Well, my own view is that all are beautiful.
And the ideas of more attractive, unattractive, less attractive, good looking, bad looking, ugly etc. etc., simply do not exist How can one person be objectively more attractive than another? It’s absolutely ludicrous!!!. Hopefully as people get more naked, more people will recognise this.
Just wanted to say thanks for the site & that we loved seeing you all on My Daughter the Teenage Nudist. We love being nude but, unfortunately, here in China it can be hard to enjoy as before when we lived in a more, liberating & open-minded environment. We do sneak in some skinny dipping when we can & will try our hands at cooking sometime now that you’ve given us inspiration.
Hi Guys…
Just watched your documentary on Channel 4 which was more about naturism rather than being a vegan. However just followed the link for your website. So got a few comments…
People need to live and let live. I’m not a vegan or vegetarian but always taught to eat whats on my plate and not waste especially if it was an animal.
It also seems that overweight people (whatever the degree is) have an issue because most of the people shown in the photos are under/normal weight.
Naturism – is just about feeling comfortable with who you are in your own skin. A great deal of people (especially the older generation) are overweight but it doesn’t bother them because they are comfortable. I’m overweight and so is my wife, we don’t want to be but it’s who we are. We lose weight and we put it back on…. seasonally. Each year it is harder to lose it but hey, that doesn’t stop us from wanting to join a naturist group now.
Vegetarians/Vegans – a life choice based on what they believe in and there is nothing wrong with that. They feel they are doing what is good for the longevity of the human race. I don’t approve of cruelty to animals at all but I do enjoy meat far too much to give it up.
So people, all the best in whichever avenue you choose to follow. If you tell someone about your lifestyle choice and it’s not for them then respect it and don’t force it on them.
By the way guys, some of your recipes are awesome and I wish you guys all the best.
PS… don’t do any fry ups in the nuddy without an apron… it could physically and mantally scarring! lol
Hey Guys, Thought I’d say i think what you guys are doing is amazing!! keep up the good work!
What has become of Greta? I miss her.
Oh ignore the negative people. You’re doing a quality job, presented in a fun, fresh format. I’m not even Vegan, but I’m 100% willing to try some of these recipes and wish people would stop trying to find fault in your blog.
Not being from UK, I only recently saw your segment of the TV show. The part where you were reading the insult comments was pretty heartbreaking, though I feel that they are more reflective of the person writing than the person receiving it. I applaud your willingness to present yourselves as you do, because it’s important to see normalcy out there. I once ate too little as well and it was through naturism that I learned to appreciate myself and normalize. I still judge myself at times, but am committed to and write about healthy body image, among other things. Keep doing what you do!
Hi guys! Im a 20 years old girl from Chile and I love this blog! You are such and inspiration for people around the world , keep going!
ps: Sorry for my english , is not my first language
Awesome, thanks!
xx
Your english is great here!
Hey guys and gals,
Well firstly, let me just say that cooking with your friends naked is a fantastic idea! Whether you’re vegan or a full blown meat eater, I think people have really missed the point of your site if they’ve left a debatable comment.
I’m really happy to know that there are like minded people out there. Not the fact that you guys get naked with your friends, but more the point that it actually means to me that you all seem to have a truly wonderful outlook on life, and personalities to boot.
For me, being naked for the first time with my friends actually taught me a few things. 1) We all have a self image and we all have insecurities however, the perception of ourselves is exactly that, it’s our perception. How people perceive you, in most cases, is often more positive than you originally thought. 2) You feel more in touch with your life, surroundings and friends. 3) It immediately liberates you from the mundane, day to day aspects of modern society. And finally, 4) Men, but mostly women, are subjected to a barrage of daily, subliminal messages that dictate how we should look and perceive ourselves, in a modern day Western society. It saddens me to know that it takes a minimum of one month, on average, before a British woman will go without makeup for the first time, in front of her new partner. Now that says a lot don’t you think?
Anyways, I’m crapping on… keep up the good work and you have my vote if you need it! :O). Two parts of wisdom I will impart if I may be so bold… 1) Cover your junk when cooking with oils and fats. 2) Swim naked at least once a year in a sea or an ocean, regardless where you live. It will put a smile on your face for the rest of the year!
Love
Kanu
